Our clients become friends, those who share our love of things wonderful.
I have known Marc for many years. I’ve visited his studios, watched him at work, shaping metal into sculpture and admired the seemingly effortless way he breathes life into his creations. I’ve also marveled at his large-scale public works.
For much of his early career, Marc worked with bronze sheets, a material both light and strong, easily shaped and endlessly versatile. More recently, he has taken a bold step forward, embracing aluminium as his medium of choice. In addition to sharing bronze’s qualities, aluminium is less prone to corrosion and reflects 92% of light, adding a luminous edge to his evolving vision.
Marc continues a legacy of sculptors exploring the expressive potential of aluminium.
What began as delicate, figurative pieces in aluminium has expanded into a universe of futuristic forms. These aerodynamic sculptures are undeniably evocative, often they resemble thrones, spacecraft, or fantastical slippers. On closer inspection, they reveal themselves as furniture, but not in any traditional sense. They are functional art: “out-of-space” furnishings with the aerodynamic poise of high-performance racing machines.
A couple of years back Marc showed me a sketch of a new piece. It looked like a sleek, elongated slipper with sumptuous red leather lining. I immediately associated it with the erotic symbolism of Cinderella’s glass slipper. Today, it sits in my minimalist living room in London, surrounded by paintings and sculptures. It may look like an object that’s just landed from space—but truthfully, I think it feels perfectly at home!
Personally, I think Marc's designer pieces, in their spatial and sculptural presence, transcend function and exist as statements—poised between design and art. Marc’s work continues to evolve with confidence and vision. He invites us to see furniture not only as utility, but as sculpture, bold, aerodynamic, and alive with presence. Each piece, however grounded in material, feels like a glimpse into the future.
